Israel & Jordan

Heading to Israel & Jordan for a scouting trip. It’s 3 days Israel, Jordan for 3 days, and then back to Israel for a day before flying home. Flying on El Al was an experience in its own. Security is definitely taken seriously! Overnight flight plus time change so I arrived about 2pm. We stopped to check out a few hotels and so checked into hotel in Tel Aviv in time for dinner. And an incredible sunset over the Mediterranean Sea. Gorgeous. After exploring a little of Tel Aviv we traveled north to Haifa, a port city. The Baha’i Gardens are landscaped terraces overlooking the port are beautiful. We also visited Caesarea and the old amphitheater built by King Herod. Stopped for lunch and had the most delicious falafel. Our hotel was located on the Sea of Galilee, which is so peaceful and mesmerizing. Such incredible history here, no matter what your religion. Next we headed to Golan Heights, almost on the border of Syria. In Katzrin went to a place that reenacted daily life

Pura Vida in Costa Rica

Whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, zip lines and hanging bridges, volcanoes, beaches, sloths and monkeys. It was a busy week in Costa Rica! This was our number was destination, we sent more guests to Costa Rica every year than anywhere else. And this was not my first visit but it had been over 7 years since visiting. So I was very overdue for a visit. I was on a scouting mission and traveling along with a alumni travel director. We were inspecting activities and hotels for an upcoming trip. I arrived 2 days in advance to head to Manual Antonio and do some serious hotel inspections. We visited 14 hotels in a day and a half. Talk about getting in your steps! Then back to San Jose to meet my travel companion. I got to see sloths up close in Manual Antonio National Park, try the local delicacy "Lizano", and watch an amazing powerful thunderstorm. First on the itinerary was white water rafting on the Pacurare River. Back in 2006 I rafted on the Sarapiqui. That

Baja California Sur and Glamping!

Amazing week in Baja! Snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding.. and most of all Glamping! Baja California Sur is a gorgeous and less touristed part of Mexico. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. To get there fly into Cabo San Lucas.. but then leave Cabo immediately! It is full of all inclusive resorts and well a different type of experience. Drive 90 minutes to the town of Todos Santos. It is an artist-y town with a lot of expats, as well as local. There are cactus and mountains like a desert up high but then the blue water of the Pacific Ocean is right there. There is a great hike in the cliffs with amazing views. The hike itself is not difficult, a slow incline until the end with a little scrambling. And there are so many amazing restaurants in town. From here I went to the east coast and did some snorkeling in Cabo Pulmo. This is a marine national park and one of the best places in the world for scuba diving. Note that the roads getting here
